I work with spacile world in geometric architectural expression In my works . Although mine paintings tend towards the abstract. I often use figurative elements from architecture and nature as I simplify to pure geometric shapes, objects and constructions.
The images can be perceived as fictional scenarios, where fragments of architecture and nature are used to illustrate backdrops that are a little out of time and space. The fact that the pictures never contain people can reinforce this feeling of scenic scenery, perhaps to a performance that is over or has not started as yet.
I always look for a feeling in my pictures that is difficult to describe in words. It's about one floating balance between reality and unreality, a mysterious place that is both known and unknown, exciting and alienating at the same time. The light from labyrinthine entrances and exits, doors and openings, corridors and walls, often make me want to wander into the picture and explore the possibilities and see what is inside and beyond.
I have a bicultural background, have lived half my life in Iran and half in Norway. Maybe is there something this sense of life I explore in my pictures. The feeling of having roots in and belonging to two cultures, while not feeling completely at home in any of them.
